Rajmachi : Before the Sunrise, Into the Wilds

It was dark when we started our journey to unfold yet another adventure. Rajmachi (Undewadi) is a small village in the rugged mountains of Sahyadri in India. 

The fortification at Rajmachi consists of two forts namely, Shrivardhan fort and Manaranjan fort. This is a very famous fort located near two famous hills of Maharashtra, Lonavala and Khanadala. 

This has become one of the famous trek destinations in the Sahyadri mountains and one of the favorite destination for every trekker and beginners. It's height is about 2750 feet and it overlooks the Bhorghat Pass.




This fort was built by the Maratha warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji in the 17th century. Rajmachi can be reached from two routes: first from Lonavala and the other being the Karjat route.
The fort had played a strategic role in the First Anglo-Maratha War. It has been declared as a protected monument.
